staff were very helpful, the room was large and comfortable and had the much needed air conditioning.
although comfortable and clean the room was old
Price and location.
For the price, nothing more would be expected.
The Sahara Guesthouse is in an old, gorgeous mansion (built in 1860 or so) - we had a room with beautiful molded plaster ceilings, a fireplace, a bay window - it was wonderful!!! We loved it! Absolutely charming place. Also, the staff were very helpful - I had a medical issue to deal with, and we had to stay two extra nights - the staff rearranged the room schedule so we could be accommodated.
My husband would have liked a desk in the room.
The personal service, good communication, friendly managers.
Staff were friendly, very handy place to the city centre, love how they restore the old ceiling
I think its time to change the room carpet as they really look worn out and need to tidy up the light cords at bed side as they are just hanging in the wall. Its a nice room but really need a revamp!
The location is good to walk into the centre. Excellent facilities and easy to find
The next door accommodation is student. This was orientation week and the students partied into the small hours. We felt that we could have been warned in advance rather than when we arrived. We could not realistically make any changes.
Friendly and helpful personnel. Availability to lounge with micro and tea-making. Old fashion style, lovely
Good location for our purposes, clean, nice staff.
Small, very little room to move round in, especially the "bathroom". No hairdryer.
Double glazing now retro-installed in older building reducing traffic noise immensely and no doubt amount of heating required in winter. Very clean. Reasonable prices.
Scratching my head here - to be honest I can't really think of any destructive criticism.
Staff were welcoming, felt comfortable in the surroundings, good communication about any needs.Handy for buses and attractions.Within easy walking distance to centre of town.
All went fine on this occasion.
Bedroom just that little cramped
Convenient location, walking distance to town centre and attractions
Very tired apartments in need of modernisation
Very noisy, drunken, hoards of young people partying on the weekend right next door. Did not like looking down on the massive, disgusting mess they left in the yard beside 'Sahara's' drive way.
The elderly man who seemed to be running things was most friendly, welcoming and hospitable; a charming host! The character of the main house was very authentic kiwi.
The units (round the back of the main house), have very thin walls, a neighbouring phone conversation could be heard very clearly at 6am.
